Fahari Marwa

Head of Agriculture and Food Security Department, East African Community (EAC) Secretariat

Fahari Marwa is the Head of the Agriculture and Food Security Department at the East African Community (EAC) Secretariat in the capacity of Principal Agricultural Economist. Prior to this role, Mr. Marwa was the Principal Inspection Officer at the Tea Board of Tanzania, served as a Programme Analyst at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) - Tanzania Representation Office, and was an Agronomist at the Alliance One Tobacco Tanzania Ltd. His areas of specialization are agricultural economics and agribusiness, and agricultural extension and education. He has a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education and Extension and an MBA in Agribusiness, both from Sokoine University of Agriculture in Morogoro, Tanzania.
